I just wanted to introduce myself! You can call me Sansa. I'm 21, and I've been in the Cats fandom for quite a few years. In fact, Cats is what got me started roleplaying, about.... ah geez, ten or eleven years ago now. Uh, what else... I have interests! And I also have hobbies! I'm a theatre major concentrating on directing and educational theatre, and I also dabble in special effects makeup. I live with a cat named Laverne, who I love, and a boyfriend named Keegan, who's okay. I love pretty much all of the Cats characters, to be honest! Demeter is probably my ultimate favorite, but I also love Cassandra and Rumpleteazer, and I have a soft spot for Alonzo. Etcetera was my first real favorite Cats character, so I'll always love her. I'm really interested in the whole Bombalurina-Macavity-Demeter history, and I wrote a few fanfics about that back in the day. I was in a production of Cats in high school playing a 'chorus' cat who I named Sassafras, and it was a wonderful experience. I also really like a lot of other things! The 'A Song of Ice and Fire' book series (which inspired the HBO series 'Game of Thrones') is my strongest love right now. Can you guess my favorite character? Broadway is also always in my heart. I love the video game Skyrim, like, a lot. I bought it for my boyfriend last Christmas and have about three times as many play hours as him now. I know I mentioned ASoIaF already, but I need to stress how much I adore it, so I'm mentioning it again. That's all I can think of for now. Oh, wait, there's more! I'm a die-hard Gryffindor. Okay, now I can't think of anything else. I'm very excited to be a part of this board!

Welcome to roleplay! Glad to have you here. Demeter is awesome, she's so deep and Alonzo is one of my favs too. So who do you think you would like to RP here?

I'm not sure - I'm working on a Demeter app right now, but I don't know if I'll like it. I have some old OCs I might bring in, mostly working for Macavity. I'm also a little interested in Electra. Also - is there a set 'family tree', or is it up to the RPers to decide as they apply for characters?

It's really up to the roleplayer since there's no definite family lines, most is fanon. I mean there is some accepted ones like Munk being Macavity's brother or like Bustopher is Quaxo/Misto's uncle but it's really up to the RPer.

Welcome, hi. Glad to meet you. I'm X2. My first favorite cat had to be Jemima, but over the years its frequently changed. My favorite queen is probably Jennyanydots, but my real love is with Gilbert. I've always wanted to see the Japanese production (the only one I know of that has Gilbert), but aside from a few clips I've found on youtube, I have not been able to see much of it. All I really know about Gilbert in that production is that he doubles as Genghis during Growltiger's Last Stand. I have always wanted to read the books of Game of Thrones, as my interest in the show has diminished. However, I am curious who your favorite character is. At the moment I only like two characters out of the entire series.

You know, I don't think I've ever considered Jenny very much. I'd love to know why you like her! And I don't know of any Japanese production bootlegs, sadly. I've always been interested in that one as well, the dancing is just... incredible, from what I've seen. And I love the style choices.
Well, my favorite character is Sansa, obviously! I love all the Starks. I deliberated on that for a while because they're the 'main' family and I felt like it would be taking the easy way out if those were my favorite characters, but I just love them. The whole Northern culture, really, is wonderful. But my opinions are pretty much 100% based on the book series, as the show doesn't really do justice to most of the characters. Apart from the Starks (specifically Sansa, Catelyn, and Arya - I love me some good female characters), I really have a soft spot for Stannis, Theon (it's reallyyyy complicated as far as he is concerned, though), Sam Tarly, Davos, Asha (Yara on the show, I believe - Theon's sister), and the Tyrells.
That's a tough question, though, because there are a lot of characters I personally despise, but love as far as their writing/arc is concerned. Cersei, for instance, and Jaime as well. I hate most of the Lannisters, but these two have such compelling arcs that it's tough to discredit them. I think that's what I love most about the series. George writes such well-rounded, interesting characters that you can never say that you fully hate any of them.
Except Littlefinger.

*headdesk* For some reason Sansa never even entered my mind, even though it was obvious. I blame it on cramps and a migraine.
Lol. Littlefinger always seemed so creepy to me. But I didn't get far enough on the show to see too much of Littlefinger. So I'll refrain from judging him at the moment. And while the Lannisters do seem to be shown (not sure how the books are, this is true) as the family that the audience is suppose to love to hate. But they do have such meaningful and exciting arcs. Jaime is actually my favorite character, but I've always had a soft spot for bad boy/villain characters that are much more complex then they seem. But I confess, Nikolaj's acting did help me to come around to his character. And I keep wanting to hate Cersei, a lot, but every time I start to, something happens that makes me realize that her character is much deeper than I'm giving her credit for. She's so easy to hate, but at the same time so hard to hate. (Its a very confusing emotion)
Arya is my other favorite character. For me, I always, ALWAYS have a hard time liking female characters. Whether it be in books, movies, or television shows. Don't really know why, I've just always been more critical and expect more from the female characters, and again I really don't know why. But Arya was one of those characters that made me fall in love and like her immediately and she's the only reason I still have some interest in the show, just to see more of her story arcs. Though I was rather disappointed, because I keep hearing how much better her story arcs are in the books and that the tv shows interpretation of such are lacking.
And though those are the only two characters that I got invested in, doesn't mean I dislike all the other characters. I find I like most of the characters, as even the supporting cast seems to be just as in depth as the main cast, which I love.
Honestly, I never really gave much thought to Jennyanydots either. But I wrote her randomly into a scene on my cats fanfiction (which is ongoing), and then I made her the jellicle healer, because I figured I needed one in my story. Which had her participating more and more in my story, and I realized I was giving her a totally new personality to the one many interpret or (don't) interpret her to have. And I fell in love with her. That's when it dawned on me how bland her personality seems to be in other fanfics or RPGs. Not an astounding reason to fall in love with her character, I know. But now I've learned to appreciate the 'older' characters now so much more. Such as Bustopher Jones, Gus (love Gus, he's so cute), Old Deuteronomy, Skimbleshanks, and Jellylorum. Probably maturing and getting older also made me pay attention to more then just Munk, Tugger, Jemima, Victoria, Misto, Bomba, Deme, Mungo, and Teazer.
Also have a fondness for Plato, Admetus(from the DVD) and Exotica. <3

Haha! Don't even worry about it.
I struggle a lot with Jaime. I feel like I have to wait until the end of the series to have a really firm opinion on any character, because I don't know where their arcs are going. I hope Jaime's arc is going somewhere redemptive, but... who knows. I loved Cersei a lot during the first season, a little less in the second, and then I read the books before the third season and... everything changed. I sympathize a lot with her, but I have a loooot of issues with her. She doesn't handle things well, but she thinks she does, so she's a very frustrating character for me.
For me, I think I reflexively jump to defend female characters, especially in fantasy fandoms. So I analyze them all really deeply. But yes, Arya's storyline is a lot better in the books, in my opinion. A lot of people find it more boring than it is in the show, but it's really eye-opening, I think. A lot of it is about the plight of the commoners during war, and the brutality of war in general. But I love getting into her head with all the murder things going on. And I love her time in Braavos, I'm really excited to see more of that.
That's probably the reason I never give her much thought. Her personality is always so bland in fanfics and roleplays, or she's just a 'Molly Weasley' clone, you know? But I definitely understand where you're coming from. I have a pretty deep love for Jellylorum after RPing her once upon a time. I wish I could be more passionate about the older adults. I know I have the capacity, especially since their personalities are so up for interpretation, you know? I AM starting to gain a deeper appreciation for Old Deuteronomy, now that I'm starting to consider him more of a 'morally grey' leader, rather than the whole "Jellicles = 100% good, Henches = 100% bad" thing I used to do.
