Cat’s Name: Purrgatori, AKA Tori
Loyalty: Hench
Age: Adult (29)
Family: OPEN; Just PM me. Did have an older sister-Deceased.
Appearance: She is a lithe and petite queen. She would be labeled as a feminine beauty. She has long legs, and is much taller then most of the queens her age. She has a very noticeable and crisp look. Most of her coat is of a soft texture, and a warm brown color. She has an undercoat of a deep red; giving her a rustic appearance. Her face and her tail are lined with black tabby markings. She has the build of a dancer, but long slender fingers. She has a long tail, and her ears are larger then the ears of most housecats. Her facial structure and markings look quite exotic. She may have Somali heritage, but Tori has no idea if that might be true. She also has very clear, and bright green eyes.
Personality: Like most everyone else, who is normal; Purrgatori acts differently around those she befriends, as opposed to those she doesn't know. However, the main constants that she shows to everyone, is her brutal honesty and her unwavering logic. Lies sugarcoat things or just flat out are rude or mean to others. She is honest, no matter what the situation, what her take is on things or what the consequences might be. Her path is straight, narrow, and uncompromising. She doesn't live in a black and white world, but when it boils down to honesty, her world view is black and white. There's dishonesty and truth. Even omitting the truth, even in bits, is a no, in her rigid standards to uphold facts. Her take can be very brutal, and her truthfulness has hurt others (emotionally) in the past. Tori has not made many friends with her approach, but she will not sellout her principles to make friends who obviously can't accept her personality anyway. Purrgatori also has a way of perceiving her environment with a logical eye. She takes the same approach with situations and relationships. Logic isn't the only thing in the world, but she isn't comfortable taking things on blind faith or giving in to the complete emotional aspect. Just using emotions, can be unpredictable and in past experience have proved dangerous. Don't misunderstand, she is not emotionless, she is very emotional, she just doesn't let her emotions rule her decisions in life.
When she is around cats that she doesn't know, and quite frankly doesn't like. She's not a saint, there are cats that annoy her, that make her ears bleed, that she just flat out dislikes. Around them, she is very introverted. She prefers to be alone or do activities that are suitable for one cat. She's not a shy queen, by any standards, but she is stand-offish. She will try to ignore the others presence to the best of her ability, but when she can't she is not outright mean or rude to the other, but neither does she make an effort to be friendly. When she is around the opposite company, the cats she likes and the ones she is friends with, she is almost a complete one-eighty. She is much more relaxed, and not in the stiff proper posture. She will joke around, though most of her jokes is of her taking things too literally. She'll understand what they are actually saying, but she will make the joke to make the others sigh, facepalm, or even giggle. Her own giggle can be infectious, and if she's laughing too hard, she will snort. An affliction that is most embarrassing to her. Although she is still logical with her 'better' company, she allows her emotions to run more naturally in her process. She has more of a balance. She is a loyal friend, one who will have another's back no matter what, even if its in direct conflict with her own principle's and beliefs. She'll still state her mind, but one of her convictions is to be supportive of her friends, and will do just that. She is much lighter with her friends, and even though she is still brutally honest, she knows her friends accept her regardless, and is most likely why she is more relaxed and happy with them.
History: She was born to parents, that Purrgatori was too young to really remember. She once heard her older sister Valhalla, tell her their mother's name was Skadi. However, there was another time she mentioned there mothers name to be Lucassi. Tori quickly picked up on the fact that Valhalla didn't know their mother either. Valhalla was too young to remember much of their mother either. In any case, their father had abandoned their mother and Val, around the time Tori was conceived. Their mother died while giving birth to Purrgatori, and even though Valhalla was too young to really take care of Tori, she became Tori's guardian, mother, caretaker, older sister, and best friend. Whatever Tori needed. The sisters scraped by, but Valhalla did her best to keep them both alive and live in somewhat comfort. Tori couldn't begin to imagine or appreciate what Val had to do, and had to sacrifice to give Tori the life she needed and deserved. The life their mother would have wanted for Tori.
As Tori got older, she started to mature and realize how bad off Valhalla was for the years she sacrificed to raise Tori. Tori felt guilty, and started becoming self sufficient during her preteen years, much younger then most others her age ever had to deal with. Valhalla was quite grateful to Tori and they began to bond even more then before. Valhalla was Tori's world, and the same was true for Tori being Val's world. The two sisters were extremely close and loved each other very much. Their relationship turned for the better, for quite a few years. However, around the time Purrgatori turned eighteen, Valhalla had brought home a jellicle tom; Zaeed. Valhalla had always told Tori not to trust first impressions, but right off the bat Tori disliked him. At first, she was able to justify her dark thoughts of killing Zaeed, to the idea that she was in love with Valhalla, and Zaeed was going to steal her beloved sister away. However, Valhalla soon began to act differently.
Valhalla gave Tori the same excuse. Claiming Tori was just jealous of Zaeed, but soon started acting irrational. She would be screaming at Tori one moment and accusing her of not wanting her to be happy and have a mate, and the next minute she would be sobbing and apologizing. It didn't take long to figure out that Valhalla was into drugs, addicted to them, and more importantly that Zaeed was the one to get her hooked on her habit in the first place. This only made her hate Zaeed more, but the love for her sister won out over kicking the toms butt. She convinced Valhalla to do the logical, the best, and the only thing she could, and dump Zaeed. A month later, Val was back together with Zaeed because she "loved" him. For months, Tori did everything she could possibly do, to try and keep Val away from Zaeed and get her clean. She succeeded multiple times, only to bear witness to Val getting back on the drugs, every time she would get back together with Zaeed after a horrible breakup....many, many times.
Purrgatori's hope waned each time she saved Val's life only to watch her emotional decisions drive her right back to the brink of death, again. She even got so desperate that she tried to appeal to Zaeed. Zaeed only saw her appearance at his den on the outskirts of the junkyard, as Tori being vindictive and purposely trying to keep him away from Val. His solution was to spike her water so bad, that Tori almost OD'ed. Tori is unaware of how she survived, not knowing it was a jellicle healer. She just had to get away for a while to clear her head. She was gone from her den with Val for a couple hours, after regaining consciousness. She was upset, over what Zaeed had done to her, and almost gave up hope on her sister. She was in for a shock of her life when she returned to the den. Zaeed, was actually sober and not high, but he sat over Valhalla's body in shock. Valhalla had committed suicide, and Purrgatori found out from Zaeed why. Apparently, after she had collapsed in Zaeed's den, he had run to Val in a panic to tell her he had accidentally killed her sister.
Valhalla had killed herself, while she was high and emotional, after Zaeed's confession. Purrgatori, did feel some guilt, but she mainly blamed (and rightly so) Zaeed for what happened. She didn't take her revenge, because she knew there would have been no point, but she did kick his ass out of her den. Despite being saved by a jellicle, something Tori has no knowledge of, she couldn't get over what Zaeed had done. And though she didn't judge the entire tribe on Zaeed's actions, she wanted nothing to do with them. In a way, the tribe had indirectly wronged her and her family, and it was not a tribe she wanted to be in. She easily became a Hench, partly in fact that they were an enemy tribe of the jellicles, but partly because after Val's death, she wanted to be around others and not withdraw into despair. About a year after she became a hench, she found Zaeed's dead body in a back alley. She wasn't sorry he was dead, but she honored the memory of her sister, because she may have had poor taste in toms-but she still loved the bastard. So Tori buried Zaeed next to where she buried Val. What happened with Valhalla is why Tori refuses to let her decisions be run by gut reactions or emotional choices. However, it's because of Val's importance and influence on her, that she is able to open her heart to the possibilities that are out there.
(Also, because of Zaeed, she had felt the obsession and need to have more drugs, but has resisted temptation. It's still a part of her though, and she struggles with it every day.)
Desired Pairings: Open (Jellicle or Hench is fine with me; I'm not picky)
Roleplaying Sample: Purrgatori shifted in the position she was sitting in, until she finally gave up. Swinging her legs over the side, she stood up straight and began walking across the hallway. Her ears briefly went backward, and her eyes went into slits when a queen approached her from her left. With one gaze to the queen, Tori immediately schooled her features into one of indifference. Jaqi was not a queen she associated with, and she was slightly surprised Jaqi was even approaching her. Having already made the younger queen cry four times for being honest, she had figured, and secretly hoped Jaqi would never bother her again.
With a stern jaw, and a death glare aimed at Tori, Jaqi practically yelled. "Don't even start! I'm only here to tell you that Macavity wants to see you, you bitch." She crossed her arms and began to strut away.
Purrgatori, pressed her lips together and whipped her tail from side to side in agitation. She nodded. "I think you are confused. I am not a female dog. However, if it was your intention to insult me, you have failed." She spoke as logically and as neutral as possible, before she herself walked in the opposite direction to confer with Macavity over his recent wishes.
How often can you be on?: Once a week, probably more.
