The sound of kittens playing across the Yard reached even Tantomile's ears, stretched out on the floor in the back of the broken-down car. The sun beams streamed through the window and warmed her fur, as well as the ratty carpet beneath her. She blinked sleepily. Her night had not been easy. She'd been plagued with fresh knowledge, an image of a Pollicle, maybe two, and a cat... perhaps a Jellicle? Her brow furrowed. She did not like playing this guessing game. What was the point of this gift if it could not be understood? There was no sense, no rhyme or reason, to anything she learned from it.
With a sigh, she pulled herself onto the seat above her to clean her fur. Maybe she would learn more soon. She could only wish. What hope did she have of ever helping if she did not know details? The Jellicles already knew to avoid Pollicles, so this would be useless to them. She sighed again. She'd had this gift for as long as she could remember. There was no reason for her to have such a weak grasp on it.

Coricopat approached the old car with a lite step. He veered from his course circling slightly several times to avoid both running kittens and a dancer who was no longer there...THAT would be happening for at least a week after The Ball, not that he really minded.
he paused at the bumper giving it a polite tap with his claw. then he sent gently through his link with his sister, 'It is morning Tan and I have brought you something to eat'.
then the calico tom patiently settled in to wait enjoying the warm sunshine.

Tantomile's expression tensed at the unexpected intrusion of her brother's voice, then softened. Always so thoughtful, that brother of hers. And oddly devoted to her. Though she supposed that was how most siblings were. She stood to stick her head out of the window.
"Come in here, Coricopat," she said, her voice smooth despite the lack of sleep. "I would prefer to stay in the privacy of the car."

the calico tom glanced about when he entered the TSE-1 and managed not to sigh. he curled his tail around himself as he sat and
set the package he carried between them. "so this is where you are denning?" he asked as he unwrapped to reveal a nice piece of fish which
he offered Tantomile. "are you sure that you don't want to join me in the old shelter? there is room for another den."
he said with a smile.

"For now." She began to pick at the fish, though she wasn't terribly hungry. "The young toms set up a play fort near my old one, and I cannot tolerate the noise. I'm moving my things to the covered pick-up truck bed by the east wall." She pushed the fish away. Her the pain in her head was throbbing, and the smell was becoming nauseating. "And no, thank you. I prefer to den alone. You know that." She cleared her throat.
"I believe somebody is going to be involved in a Pollicle attack soon," she continued matter-of-factly.

Coricopat smiled "I know Sister mine and the pick up bed is a fine choice, I just worry." Then he winked "I mean after all I do see what can happen." then he stretched claiming a nibble of fish for himself. The calico tom cocked an eyebrow "Pollicle attack? you don't suppose that the Humans are going to bring in a Dog to watch the Yard after dark? that would be inconvenient."

Tantomile's face darkened stubbornly. "The more time I spend around the others, the more often I learn things. That, or they question me on inconsequential things, as if I have the ability to know whether their every decision is right for them. I would rather avoid that."
She cleared her throat crisply and sat up straighter. "All I know is that there will be a Pollicle attack and a cat will be involved. I don't know if it will be one of ours or not. I don't know where it will happen, though it could be the Junkyard. And I don't know when, or why. I-" She broke off suddenly to press her lips together in frustration. She was sure her brother meant well, but questions like that were the reason she secluded herself, especially after a vision like this one.

Coricopat's ears dipped "Sister I am sorry I was only asking your opinion not a reading, and I was only trying to lighten the mood" he said in a low voice. " I did mean what I said, that was a good den sight. and I truly understand, or don't you remember how many times I have walked or sat in a spot in which Tugger was trysting?"
the calico tom twitched "to be honest it's enough to make me consider being celibate some times."

Tantomile sighed briskly. And now he was upset. Wonderful. He had always been counterproductive whenever he tried to lighten her mood. "I'm sorry that it's so difficult for you," she replied icily, shifting to curl up on the tattered back seat. She rested her head on her arm, her face pointed away from her brother. It was the one irrationality she allowed herself. She knew Coricopat couldn't help that he saw only the past while she saw the future. He was not the one who had made her watch their mother die, not once, but twice. She watched the sky out the window absently.

Coricopat shook his head, sometimes it was even more difficult with Tantomile as his empathy got sometimes got so strong that that her mood fed into his in a spiral. "Tan I do realize that my attempts at humor are lacking, and I was not making lite of your abilities. now since it seems that I can not be of help with your vision, would you like some help shoring up the covering on the pick up bed into a proper roof?" he said looking out another window himself.

Tantomile's eyes softened, and her ears burned with something close to shame. There was no reason for her to treat her brother poorly. He didn't know how counterproductive he was, he was only trying to help. "I shouldn't have said that," she said, her voice low and her gaze still pointed out the window. "Your help would be useful."
Then, as suddenly as a thunder bolt, Tantomile's vision swirled and she brought her paws up to cradle her temples. She struggled to keep her breath up, to keep the bile from rising in her throat, while her mind churned. "It's at the Gate," she choked out. Her breath came back all at once and she coughed at the onslaught of oxygen. "Or, it will be. The Pollicle. I-" Her vision swirled again and she held her aching face in her paw.

The calico tom turned to his his sister, at her side in a bound cradling her and leaning Tantomile back onto the cars seat.
"Easy, easy you recover, I'll go and see what I can do. you rest and try to drink some water."
Coricopat gave his sister a reassuring smile before dashing out the open window.

Tantomile barely registered Coricopat's care and exit, too busy trying to keep herself from fainting. She managed a nod before he left. Two episodes in such a short amount of time took its toll, especially when they concerned the same event. Eventually, she let herself drop off the seat and back onto the floor of the car. It was darker underneath the seats, and cooler as well. Hopefully she would be able to sleep this one off.
