There was so much happening. So much to keep track of, too much in fact. Jenny wasn't sure when or how, but they had gotten a few paces away from the dog, who was distracted by all the cats now in his path. She did notice the arrival of Quaxo and Victoria. How dare the magician bring Victoria so close to a dangerous situation where she could get hurt, or worse! It was reckless, but there was no time to call him on it now. She spoke firmly. "Quaxo, Victoria. You should leave Victoria here with Clint and I. I could use her help, and they...they need your help Mistoffelees." It was unspoken, but she clearly didn't think this was the place for any of the young queens to be. She got distracted by Clinton's voice, and when she looked over at him, she cringed at seeing his pained face. "You're not going anywhere, hon. You can't do anymore with that leg. You need to stay still and let me look it over, doctors orders."

Quaxo knew that Jenny was right but he still believed she was the key to making his magic work, maybe her love although until he had protected the Jellicles would he allow himself think on that.. "Miss Jenny, please believe I will not allow Victoria to come to harm." He turned his focus on the charging pollicle and as Tugger distracted it, he saw his opportunity. He gently let go of Victoria and lightly nudged her behind him. "Please stay behind me." He whispered softly to her. "I need you here..." He then foucused back on the Pollicle as the electricity charged up in his paws. He knew attacking it was incredibly risky specially with Alonzo still attacking it but he also new the guardian wouldn't want it charging into the Jellicle gate. "By all things in Heavenly Layer, please let me hit my mark." Quaxo wished as he aimed at the Pollicle's left side and shot off electric bolt at it.

To Victoria, is was like everything happened in slow motion. She was pulled back by the black-and-white tuxedo tom, him whispering. Her white fur had blushed profusely. The next second, the lighting bolt shot out of his paw. It crackled and lit up in a blue glow, and she knew the Pollicle would be harmed. He wouldn't be as gentle as he was with her at the Ball. The dog went flying, it's drool showering everyone. She ducked behind Quaxo and grasped his shoulder tightly. She smiled. The beast flew to the right and slammbed into a brick wall. The wall trembled and a huge chunk of rock burst out of it. It flew toward Quaxo with a blinding speed. "QUAXO!" She yelled. Before it could hit him, however, her instincts kicked in. Victoria shoved out from behind him, growled, and flung herself in front of him. The rocked in her in the shoulder and she slammed against the floor, six feet behind the magician. Her collerbone was stripped of it's fur, her skin exposed with blood gushing out onto her white fur. She groaned and could barely see. Her clavicle hurt so, so bad.

as the pollicle staggered to it's paws there was a loud shout as several Humans came around the corner of a junk stack. one had a long pole with a cord looped into noose at one end that it used to snare the pollicle and drag it off. the other two were gesturing wildly at one another and shouting. one glanced over took in the blood, the injured cats laying so still and turned and punched the other squarely on the nose. the ensuing scuffle left the beleaguered Jellicles alone.
Coricopat shook his head muttering "primates..." then he turned and limped over to Victoria. gently he examined the fallen white queen, ignoring the throbbing of sympathetic pain in his own shoulder and left foreleg. his heart had leaped when he saw her struck down but it could have been worse the Magic could have demanded a steeper price. "it's going to be all right Victoria," he said in a soothing voice. then he looked up at Quaxo and Alonzo and said "we should get them to the healers den and be gone before the humans come back. and Quaxo....well done."

He had no idea if it was Cori's mind powers, or the lightning-bolt from Quaxo, or a combination of both. But whatever exactly happened, Alonzo felt himself suddenly lose his grip on the dog and flung backwards several feet. His landing left him stunned for a moment, and when he came back to himself the Pollicle was being dragged off by humans. So it was over. Now that the main danger had passed, all the insane adrenaline that had for the time possessed the harlequin now disappeared, leaving him drained. He had little energy or motivation to leave this spot, until Coricopat got his attention again by mentioning the healer's den. "Healer's...?" he mumbled, as if he didn't quite understand what Corico meant. Forcing himself to sit up and look around, he did a double-take on the cats around him. He couldn't fully take in the situation yet, but there seemed to be copious amounts of blood involved. "Right," he said, much more alert now. He stood shakily to his feet. His shoulder throbbed, either from holding onto the dog or from landing on it strangely, but it could wait; he wasn't in danger of bleeding to death like Victoria and Clinton appeared to be. "Anyone who's got use of your limbs," glancing at Quaxo, who appeared to be one of the only candidates at the moment, "let's get them out of here."

All planning stopped when Tugger's projectile had found its mark. The glare the beast had given him seconds before the bolt of magic connected, made chills run up and down his spine, and his fur bristled. The tom probably wouldn't have been prepared to act if it had charged hm, so he was thankful the distraction hadn't gone beyond that. Once the humans had dragged the offending canine away, he was able to relax a bit, releasing the breath he hadn't been aware he'd been holding. Smoothing his fur and mustering the best air of confidence he could, the maine coon closed the distance between his position and the injured cats.
"I've got use of my limbs," he had trouble at first keeping his voice from shaking. Who knew you could get so much adrenaline from barely helping?
"I can carry the most injured."

Clinton was trying to argue with Jenny, convince her that he could help, he was fine, it didn't even hurt that much. But then everything happened all at once. He saw a flash of blue lightning, and heard a massive cracking sound from behind him. His eyes slid in and out of focus for a moment, and when he managed to focus again, the Pollicle was gone.
"I c-can help, Jenny, I'll help you..." He tried to sit up again, ignoring the worrying amount of blood leaking out of his calf. Actually, he hardly felt the pain anymore.

Jennyanydots wasn't paying the dog too much attention. She put her life and trust in Alonzo and Coricopat, and the others that had arrived. Her paw was on Clinton's shoulder, trying to keep him steady. It was a firm touch, without being forceful. All too soon, and unbelievably so the dog was taken away and the immediate threat was gone. She gave Clinton a reassuring squeeze,"I need to check on Victoria, but I'll fix you up. I promise." Jenny got up, and passed Misto on her way to Victoria. She was very disappointed with Mistoffelees, for even bringing the white queen so close to danger, but Victoria was more important than Mistoffelees at the moment. Kneeling down, she gently touched just above Victoria's wound. "Vicky, honey. You need to tell me exactly what you're feeling. I need to know if moving you is going to do more damage, sweetie." Her voice was gentle, but carried.
While she was talking with Victoria, her eyes scanned the queen's collarbone. It looked bad, but she didn't think it would do more damage to move the young queen. However, it wasn't going to be painless for her either. Looking up, her light green eyes rested on Tugger. She had subconsciously known he was there, but things had happened to fast that she was just now realizing it. Addressing Tugger, she spoke. "We need to get them moved now. I'm concerned about Clinton's leg. We should place a cloth over it, and apply pressure to stop the bleeding before we move him, but I don't have any of my supplies with me. And it looks like Victoria can be moved, but..." She glanced back down at the white queen, her eyes full of compassion,"It will hurt, hon. I'm sorry." With one more look around the group, she gave Coricopat and Alonzo a stern stare,"And don't think I've forgotten about you two. I'll check you both out once we get to the den."

Quaxo could barely comprehend what had just happened. One moment he was watching his bolt hiting the Policle and the next thing he knew, he was on the ground facing a injured Victoria. "Victoria!" He yelled desperately as he scrambled over to her side. He felt sick to his stomach just knowing he failed her. Without even thinking he took her paw in his. "I am so very sorry Victoria. You were not supposed to become hurt like this, you are one of the main reasons I even offered to help, so you would have a safe place." He didn't dare to look at the others, even brushing off Cori's praise. He could sense Jenny's anger with him, making him feel worse. "Please let me help her to the den."he asked as he hung his head in shame.

Victoria tried to remain awake. The world was spinning and darkening. Her breath was coming in difficult, short pants. Her stomach hurt, but that was nothing compared to her shoulder. It was leaking blood down her arm, to her paws. She lifted one paw gingerly. It was soaked in the red substance. She shuddered. Jenny's voice rang out, asking how she was. "It hurts." Victoria mumbled. Jenny replied soothingly. She relaxed a little. The white queen heard the calls of her best friend, but she did not regret her actions. Victoria had protected him. Then she heard his confessions and stroked his paw. "It's okay." She whispered. "I'm going to be okay." Tears sprouted out of her eyes for a reason she could not understand. The thing was, she she had flung herself in front of him, she felt something. Clarity. Pure strength and confidence. Because when it comes to sacrificing someone for someone she loved, she would gladly sell her soul.

the calico tom simply could not help but smile at the feelings coming off of Victoria and Quaxo. he stepped up to Jenny with an odd gait "it never even crossed my mind that you would forget us," he said to her. "I can assure you my main problem is with my tail, though I am experiencing some phantom pains from the others inguries." he continued as he knelt to help with Clinton's leg. "Tugger if you would be so kind as to lend me your collar?" he asked. "oh and well done with that boot toss good show!"

Alonzo gave a sidelong glance at Jenny, face reddening slightly. "Thank you, Jenny, but it's nothing," he mumbled. He did try shrugging his shoulder up and down experimentally, and quickly bit his lip to keep from making any noise, making a mental note to use the other arm exclusively. But who had time to sit around in the healers' den? He needed to find Munkustrap; the silver tabby needed to know of the danger, for who else could be responsible for this except...?
He shook away the thought, and looked again to the injured cats. Seeing as Victoria seemed to have plenty of people wanting to take care of her, he knelt by Coricopat to help with Clinton. Though, not being a healer himself, he really felt clueless. He looked up when Coricopat praised Tugger for his help. Admittedly, Alonzo had not even noticed the Maine Coon until just now...there had been so much going on. "Yes, thank you, Tugger," he said, not wanting to be ungrateful. He did wonder what Cori was going to do with Tugger's collar, but leave that to the medical experts.
"What's the safest way to move them?" he asked Jenny.

Ever attached to his accessories, the flamboyant tom was nearly compelled to refuse as he usually would. However, given the situation with Clinton's bleeding leg, Tugger got the message of why Coricopat had made such a request. The tom reached up and removed the gold-spiked collar and held it out to the other, nodding in acknowledgement to Alonzo's thanks at the same time, "Sure just make sure I get it back later," his serious expression turned into a small grin at the compliment, "and thanks, I figured if it works for can-openers it would work for us. That's what mine do to nasty pollicles anyway."
Turning to Jenny, he added, "I can carry Victoria to the den; I'll be careful."

Clinton struggled to push himself up, but relented and laid back on his elbows when the pain began to make him lightheaded. "I-I don't think I'll be able to walk," he told Coricopat through clenched teeth. Regaining lucidity, he looked around to check the damage. Victoria was bleeding as well - what was she doing there!?
"Is anyone else hurt?" he asked Alonzo. Not many cats could fight a Pollicle and walk away unscathed.

Jenny stood up and away from Victoria, giving her and Misto the chance to talk. She turned around and placed her paw on Tugger's arm. With a meaningful look she spoke. "I trust you to look after her. Thanks, Tugger." The White and Orange tabby finally let go of the stud, and returned to Clinton. "Victoria's the only other one badly hurt, but you both will be fine." She ran a paw down his cheek and then smiled at Coricopat, gesturing to the bloody leg. "Ready hun?"
