Deuteronomy stood tall, hands folded neatly behind his back as golden eyes looked out over the horizon from his place near the gate. His current position allowed him a bird’s eye view, and he was able to scan the streets below and the everyday hustle and bustle with ease.
With a sigh, the middle aged leader let his shoulder slump. His eyes closed as a breeze disturbed the still evening air, and Deuteronomy was thankful for the moment of solitude. As of late, much had been on his mind. Security had to be doubled, and curfews were suggested. He knew his brother would have to be extremely bold to try anything so soon after the ball, but when it came to the well being of his tribe, Deut wasn’t taking any chances.
Opening his eyes after a moment of much needed peace, Deut composed himself and glanced around him. The next watch should be here soon. The sun was setting now, and night would soon be upon them. Younger eyes were best suited for the night watch – they could see things lurking in the dark that he no longer noticed. Such was the joy of growing older.

Rumpleteazer skipped through the streets, bag of goods wrapped in a white striped blanket slung over her shoulder and through her opposite arm. After the pub and getting passed over for some mysterious boss. And boy was that a blow to her ego. Who'd choose some pompous 'boss', albeit one that sounded to have a kinky side, over a night of fun with her? He seemed interested, but it was doubtful she'd run into that dark tiger tabby tom again.
Luckily, she was the type to bounce back rather quickly. She had spotted something sparkle in a human window on her way back to the junkyard. Slipping in for a lone heist was just what she had ordered for herself. It had cheered her up, immensely. She had even knocked over a vase to get their attention and the chase had been quite thrilling. Sporting a wide grin, she made her way to one of the gates, snickering to herself.
Teazer had pulled the bag over her head, and opened it up as she walked closer to one of the entrances of the yard. The white tiger tabby got distracted by the sparkling diamond bracelet, that she didn't pay attention to her surroundings as she entered the junkyard. She was reaching in to grab her latest 'find' when she ran into something broad and hard. Immediately thinking it was one of the guardians, Alonzo or Munkustrap, she instantly hid the bag behind her. "So sorreh, luv." Her voice was sweet as she raised up her head in order to find out who or what she ran into.

Deuteronomy let out a low grunt as someone ran into him. He hadn't seen who it was having been turned in the opposite direction, but as soon as said person spoke, the large tom grinned and turned around to face the queen.
"Why, I don't believe you've ever called me by a pet name before." Deuteronomy folded his arms over his chest as he gazed down at the striped queen. Teazer and her brother were handfuls, there was no doubt there. Though, Deuteronomy had no intentions of grounding them. They were valuable assets to the tribe, even if their trick of the trade was a little unorthodox. He often wondered what they did with their lute. He often envisioned their den covered with shiny objects -a hoarding of beautiful artifacts. He couldn't say for sure though.
"What do you have their Teazer? Is it time to turn in the pearls?" The older tom cocked an eyebrow, glancing down at the bag the younger queen tried to hide. He'd bet his left ear that something very nice and valuable was in that bag - possibly something she could wear. She seemed to enjoy human accessories, more so than her brother. He himself had adorned the same leather collar for quite some time now, for he hadn't many options. But, Teazer on the other hand always seemed to have something new, which he couldn't help but find enduring.

Rumpleteazer's eyes slowly looked up, and with a free paw, it patted at the mass of fur that she was no head first in. Her paw wondered, and she gazed up into the face of Old Deuteronomy, just as he looked at her and spoke kindly. She didn't tend to pay much attention to him, the ball included, but she couldn't stop looking at him now. "Oi 'aven't?"
And why hadn't she? Old Deuteronomy was quite the looker, and she was a queen who found excitement and thrills everywhere! Age, beauty, those types of descriptions meant little to her. She stopped her wandering paw, once she was satisfied that it was their leader and once she realized how wrong it could have been taken. "Well 'en, Oi oughtah fix tha' 'en." Her smile took on one of hidden meaning, before his questions distracted her.
She grinned widely,"Oi'm nevah turnin' 'em in. They're jus' takin' a break." Besides, she needed something new to distract herself with, and the glittering bracelet just had called to her. Who was she to resist? "Think they'll look good oun meh?"

Deuteronomy smiled, one eyebrow cocking as her hands grazed his abdomen and continued up towards his chest. He wasn't bothered by it, really. Teazer, being who she was, and because she wasn't in the least bit shy, made the situation far less awkward than it could have been. In addition, Deuteronomy had experienced and met more cats than he could shake a stick at. He was hardly thrown off guard, and to be quite honest, he didn't mind being touched - not by pretty queens.
"I am sure they will," he said, eyeing the diamond bracelet. The item was designed to fit around the wrist of a grown female human. With regard to a cat, the delicate piece of jewelry would fit perfectly around a queen's neck, which is where he assumed she was going to wear it. "Here, lets find out."
Deuteronomy reached out and gently took the bracelet from Teazer, motioning to her with the other to turn around. Bringing the bracelet over her head, the elder tom laid it gently across her neck and clasped the connecting ends together. Once he was satisfied it was properly snapped together, Deuteronomy stepped back to get a better look at her.
"See...lovely. It is very eye-catching - very becoming." His orange eyes took in her appearance subtlety, glancing over her as any gentleman would. His eyes weren't hungry, nor was he in the least bit sleazy, and Deuteronomy (at his age) knew how to properly appreciate a queen without offending them. "Toms will surely notice."
