The orange tabby stalked silently through the great pipe, after quite a long night. Keiiji had his sash securely wrapped around his mouth, but the rest of his bandages and cloths that he used on his body were sitting in his den. Most of the cats didn't wander around that area so late...or early. So none of them to get disgusted, scared or fascinated by his deep scars. And most of the adults had seen worse, and probably already suspected his coverings were not for fashion. He shook his head, relieving tension and then slowly and with more grace then he cared to admit stepped out of the pipe. He stood up straight, as his eyes glanced at the immediate area. Flexing his fingers, he continued walking off in the direction of his den.

Etcetera jumped onto the pipe from above with a soft thump, fluffy ball held firmly between her teeth. It had been presented to her earlier that evening, and without much gusto, to Cettie's disappointment. And it was so new that it still smelled like humans. Still, it was certainly better than her other toys, so she played with it for hours and hours, much later than she should have. She was always supposed to go back to the Junkyard once it got dark. Her mom would have to understand, though. A new toy!
She dropped it from her mouth and was just beginning to paw at it when a figure exited the pipe. It was more difficult to tell in the dark, but a long, hard look at the orange tabby markings and the sash around the mouth confirmed that it was Keiiji. Cettie didn't think she'd ever seen him without more fabrics and bandages over his body, so she called out to him curiously. "Where are all your things?"

Keiiji wasn't surprised by a new and inquisitive voice. His only outwardly reaction to the new presence was Keiiji moving his head to the side where Etcetera was, and tilted his head to the side, his only niche to show a question, with his body language. He did wonder what she was doing up so late, as he watched the ball silently roll at her feet. "What things?" Came his evasive answer, stoic as you please.((I am soooooooooooo sorry that it's soooooooo short! ))

((That's alright! Mine is, too. >.<))
Cettie crinkled her nose at the stoic attitude. Not even a little bit of excitement at seeing her? Who wasn't happy seeing another Jellicle, especially when it was so late that a cat wouldn't expect to run into anybody? The wrinkle turned into a pout and she looked down at her toy, pressing a paw on top of it to keep it from rolling off the pipe. "The things! The... bandages and stuff?" She gestured at her own torso to illustrate where the bandages usually were. "How come you're not wearing that stuff? And how come you're out so late?"

Keiiji kept to the shadows to keep his nastier scars hidden. One, so he wouldn't inadvertently scare or gross out the young kitten, and two so he wouldn't have to answer a bunch of questions to an inquisitive kitten. Most of which were stories that if he did tell to Etcetera, he was positive her mother would no doubt try to kill him for. Tilting his head ever so slightly, he shrugged his shoulders. "Left them in my den." In answer to her last question, he kept his blank stare at her for a few seconds. Leaning against the dark pipe, and allowing it and its neighboring shadow to keep much of his body concealed he folded his arms across his chest. "I could ask you the same question." His voice was a bit thicker, but overall it didn't really reveal any of the current emotions he had been feeling. "Won't your mother be upset if she catches you out this late at night?"

Etcetera pouted again at Keiiji's apparent refusal to step closer to her. How were they supposed to have a proper conversation from so far away? Keiiji had always been so resistant about opening up to other Jellicles. Maybe one day she could crack him. And what better way to start than with a moonlit heart-to-heard? She puffed her chest primly and proudly at his question. "I was at my humans' house. I got a new toy." She batted the ball off the pipe and jumped onto the ground to pounce on it before it went too far. "Do you have humans, 'Ji?"

Keiiji watched her with subtlety, his eyes only flicking in the smallest gesture has she moved about. So freely, like any normal kitten should. Keiiji did envy her at least that much. He couldn't really remember his childhood, there were flashes of a time just out of kittenhood that always made him sick, without him even knowing why. He didn't dare try and reach back further then that, not if he wanted to remain the way he was and survive. His lips twitched as though he wanted to smile beneath his sash, as he watched Etcetera pounce, but as always his facial expression didn't change from the norm; not even in the comfort of the darkness he was shrouded in. "No." Was his short reply. His caramel eyes were focused and intense. "New Toy or not, you're mother will probably be worried about you."

Cettie was only half listening, the other half of her attention focused on the ball between her paws. She imagined that it was a mouse that had been trying to sneak by, and it was up to her to catch it or else she and her mom wouldn't have anything to eat at all. Her rump wiggled and, with her tongue between her teeth, she pounced again. "My mom probably knows where I've been." She batted the ball with one paw and stopped it from rolling away with the other. "I go see my humans every day. Do you want humans?" She was determined to get a real, personal response from him before she went back to her den.

Keiiji was half relieved that her new toy took on most of her attention. Flexing his slightly sore muscles, Keiiji allowed his attention to also momentarily leave her. Etcetera was no big threat to him, none of the jellicles were; though there were a few he kept his eyes on. So he didn't feel like he needed to be on constant watch while she chased her ball. He jumped up onto the top of the play and laid down, his striped tail curving around his body, and hanging down the side of the pipe. Keiiji figured most of his scars were still covered, but with her short attention span, he figured it wouldn't matter even if they weren't.
"Well you know Jelly best." Keiiji figured Jelly would still want to hear from Cettie to know she got back to the junkyard alright, especially this late at night. Worry wart was the first thing that popped into his mind upon his first meeting with her, but the orange tabby let it slide. His eyes briefly closed. The white tabby kitten was a chatty one, and he...? Not so much. He wondered why she even bothered to begin with, but when he opened his eyes, he spoke truthfully. It wasn't an earthshattering, deeply from the heart response. It was the same stoic short response he had given before. "No."
((I know her mother relationship may change. But I figured it was fine to go ahead with Jelly being Cettie's mom.))

((Yep, that's fine!))
Etcetera's jaw set in frustration, her mouth scrunching up and causing her nose to wrinkle. Darn it, her questions deserved more than a one word answer! She batted at her toy for a moment while she thought of the best way to get Keiiji to open up more. She wished Tugger were here. He was always so good at talking to other cats. He'd know what to do.
With a huff, she pressed her paw on top of her ball again. A direct, straight-forward approach could be the right way. Just like Munkustrap always did. "Why don't you want humans? And I want a good answer!"

Keiiji stretched his arms above his head in the span of the silence that had befell the two of them. Keiiji did move languidly, towards his den and away from Etcetera, without making it obvious. Once he was there he'd tie all his cloths and sashes around his body once again, and then slip back out. It was ironic how vulnerable he now felt when he wasn't covering his scars. At the sound of her voice he stopped and turned on his heel with grace. The young queen had asked him for a good answer, and a good answer didn't necessarily mean an honest answer.
However, after the long night, and knowing how many new questions would pop up if he kept evading, he spoke. "You've got great humans, and it's clear they take good care of you." Keiiji had spoken through his observations of Cettie, and not in actual fact. "I unfortunately have seen the depravity of humans. They are not beings I wish to associate myself with."

Etcetera pouted. "What kind of depravity? And what does depravity even mean?" She remembered Bombalurina using that word during the Ball. She had been talking about Macavity, hadn't she? Was Keiiji trying to say that humans were bad like Macavity? She batted at her ball halfheartedly. Keiiji wasn't being fair at all. Maybe some humans he'd met were mean to him, but that didn't mean all humans would be!
((So sorry for the length. I was having a hard time getting inspired for this one!))[/b]

((That's quite alright. Since Keiiji was requested to be in the Macavity thread, I'm going to exit him out in the next two or three posts.))
Keiiji had managed to slip into his den and grab all his bandages and sashes before slipping back out, just in time to see Etcetera pout. He kept to the darkness and shadows. "I answered your question to the parameters you intended. If you truly wish to understand the meaning of the word depravity than I suggest you ask your mother." He spoke blankly and with no emotion present. He started to apply his wrappings and coverings, as quickly as possible, though was half-grateful that Etcetera hadn't asked what his coverings were for or how he had gotten all his scars. Assuming she wasn't grossed out by them first.

"Well- y- it-" Etcetera's eyes flicked back and forth as she thought, deeply frustrated. "I have to go home now," she muttered through clenched teeth. She picked up her ball, stood, and started walking toward her den. After a few steps, she paused. If Keiiji wanted to apologize or explain himself, now was the time.

((Speechless and frustrated Cettie? Is that a first for her, Sansa?))
Keiiji tied off the last of his bandages on his arms with one hand and teeth. He wasn't sure what he had expected, maybe more questions, an accusation of being difficult or mean. He didn't know. But Cettie was always the unpredictable kitten. He didn't lose a step, and was actually enjoying the silence. Still, she had seemed upset, and Keiiji wasn't going to let something happen to her, because of it. So he walked up next to her as she began to walk away and stopped when she did. He had planned to walk her to her den. It wasn't too far away. He had plenty of time to do some business in the city before heading to Macavity's warehouse for his meeting. "Why did you stop?"
