Uhura gave him a long look, before shrugging her shoulders and nodding. She was always looking for double-meanings in others' words, but perhaps in this instance he meant no more than what he'd said outright. If he behaved suspiciously, it was likely his way of amusing himself by trying to confuse or get a rise out of her. "Well, it'd be difficult to have much of any other view on the creatures," she said, hating even having to say the word 'Jellicle' more than necessary. "It's quite clear that given the choice, say, between saving one family member or doing what was best for the tribe, they'd choose the family. Every single time. It's why they have so many problems, why they'll always be vulnerable. Great advantage to us, though." She didn't know why she was even saying all this. It was nothing every Hench didn't know. For a moment, she almost felt as if she were having to convince or remind her self why Macavity's was the better tribe, why she'd chosen it. But she quickly shoved that thought aside: she had no doubts, of course not. She pulled some loose stuffing out of the chair she sat on, not really minding whether Admetus spoke or not, but keeping an eye on him.

His eyes were still in Uhura's direction, and he couldn't stop staring at her. Everyone was entitled to their own opinions, though he himself didn't agree with her entire view of the Jellicles and their tribe. But the way she was sputtering on and on about it, made him think she was justifying her opinion. Maybe he was reading too far into her body language and the soft changes of her tone of voice. He shrugged. "Perhaps. Time will tell, ya? But you gotta give them some credit. Those Jellicles throw one hell of a party every year. Only wish there was some beer at their balls. Would be ten times better." He shook his head as his mind thought over how alcohol would improve the ball in the junkyard. Then he cracked a smile. "Be funnier too."

Uhura rolled her eyes. The Ball was just another reason to look down on the Jellicles, not admire them. But of course a party animal like Admetus would view things differently. Half the time, it seemed, he didn't much care went on between Macavity and the Jellicles, as long as he somehow got a good time out of it. "They don't seem to need alcohol or anything else to liven their...party," she commented. "From what I hear, they go plenty insane without it. Just how stupid are they? Completely letting themselves go, leaving their gates undefended too, no doubt... Probably how Leader was able to capture their big fuzzy grandpa. And still they do it." Privately, though she didn't mention this aloud, she wondered if Macavity would try that again anytime soon - or something like it at any rate. It was such a great opportunity, with none of them paying any attention the whole night.
((so sorry for the wait!))

Admetus didn't do anything outwardly to her response, but inwardly he felt like patting himself on the back. He had expected this response from Uhura, or something similar. Getting it right, made him feel proud of himself. Admetus was almost purring at Uhura. "That's because you don't know what your missin'. One of these days, ya 'ave to learn to relax, and enjoy yourself. Might be a good look for ya, ya know?" He didn't offer to take her somewhere himself, as it was implied. "Yet, for those relaxed, stupid, partiers...they managed to get their fuzzy gramps back safe and sound." His eyes were a little more serious then his reputation gave him credit for. "You'd think you have something personal against cats who like to indulge themselves in the selfish aspects of life." He touched a paw to his chest mimicking the hurt she was "putting" him through.

Uhura ignored Adme's first remark. She didn't really think it would ever apply to her. How could one ever simply relax and do whatever they pleased, while at the same time protecting themselves as well as maintaining their responsibilities to their leaders? Clearly somecats could, but she didn't know how they managed it. Maybe if she were more big and imposing, or just didn't care, or... Then maybe she could do differently. "They only got their leader back because one of them - supposedly - has magical abilities," she pointed out. At his last remark, she shrugged. "I only think duty to one's tribe is more of a priority than self indulgence. Don't see why that should be such a strange, offensive idea."

Admetus lulled his head to the side as he gave Uhura a lazy look. "Mmm...Not a believer in magical abilities?" He was genuinely curious, mainly since he himself possessed such abilities. However, the only three who had ever known of his abilities, two were too young to really get it, and his mother whom he lost contact with after she abandoned him and moved on. He gritted his teeth as a brief wave of displeasure and resentment rolled off of him at the thought of his mother. But it passed and he put his cocky grin, and in this instant a facade, as he focused back on Uhura. For all Admetus knew his two siblings and his mother had been killed, as he had never heard any information on the streets matching their description. Still, he kept his mysticism under wraps, and it was going to stay that way.
((Sorry...my muse for Admetus is kinda meh at the moment.))
