Cettie couldn't sleep, her mind was full of every touch and look by her beloved Rum Tum Tugger. Her first Jellicle Ball had been more amazing then she had ever hoped for. She remembered her owner's daughter reading her a story about girl who gets to attend her first ball and dances with the prince. That's how Cettie felt, she got to dance with her prince, the Rum Tum Tugger, all night long. She sighed happily as she poked her head out of the pipe to watch the stars.

once they were out of earshot of the others Cassandra glanced at the tiger tom beside her, "I think that they have a chance at something special, and I believe Demeter thinks so too." she said and for a moment something wistful glimmered past her serene mask and was gone. then she dipped her head demurely, "I wanted to tell you that I think you are quite brave, you stood your ground at the ball unlike some toms. AND I think you are a benefit to the tribe." she continued softly then she jumped startled against his strong muscular form when a buff and white form suddenly appeared within the darkness of the pipe.

Mungojerrie looked puzzled at her words. Quaxo and Victoria? Something special? He was just opening his mouth to ask what she meant, when she went on to talk about his bravery and such. He reddened to the eartips, extremely embarrassed. He wasn't used to so many compliments! Before he could recover, she had jumped back against him. Out of habit, he jumped in front of her and stood protectively against... Oh. He thought he recognized that fur sticking out from the pipe. "That you, Cettie?" he called.

Cettie giggled as she poked her head out further and smiled at the two innocently. "Hey Jerrie. Sorry for scaring you, Cassie. I just can't sleep, cause I keep thinking how the Ball was so much fun!" She giggled again as she climbed out of the pipe and hoisted her self up on top of it, legs swinging carelessly. "So why are you both up so late?" She knew she bound to be scolded if her mother saw her up at this time of night but the last few nights she dreamed of nothing less but the Ball.

Cassandra was impressed by the smooth speed with which Jerrie interposed himself between her and possible harm even if it did only turn out to be Etcetera. the lovely brown queen's lighter face softened framed in the moonlight by her darker head fur. she smiled at both Jerrie proving her right without realizing it and the infectious good nature of the bubbly princess. "good evening Etcetera, I was out enjoying the moonlight and our Mungojerrie here was kind enough to walk me home after displaying the results of his latest Hunt." she said in a velvety tone.

Mungojerrie smiled at the kitten, more to keep the attention off himself than anything. He was worried Cassandra might start in on another stream of compliments. Not that he wasn't grateful for her kindness, but he would much rather not be the topic of conversation! "Well, Oi fink every'un understands bein' too excited to sleep after the Ball," he said to Etcy. "As Miss Cassie says, she was out walkin', I was out...er, workin' in the neighborhood, an' we aren't the on'y ones. Quaxo an' Victoria an' Demetah was out an' about too." He wondered if Cassandra intended to explain her and Demeter's strange behavior and why they felt the need to leave Quaxo and Victoria on their own.

Little Cettie's mind was already beginning to wander as the two adults Jellicles spoke to her but that was nothing new, she had an a attention span the size of a teaspoon. She was currently wondering if the pipe was smaller if she could use it like a pommel horse like she saw her owner's daughter had. She perked up though when she heard Jerrie mention Victoria and Quaxo. "Oh Quaxo and Vic are up? Are they spendin time together." She asked curiosily leaning in closer. Victoria was her best friend so she was well aware of how the white kitten felt about the young tuxedo Tom and she had noticed how Quaxo had watched her friend when she wasn't paying attention. Cettie was pretty sure his feelings for her were mutual. Honestly it reminded her of how she felt about Tugged and she hoped they would get together eventually.

the lovely brown queens smile broadened "yes they are," she said brightly then she glanced at Jerrie. "you see that is why Demeter and I thought we should give them some....time to themselves, Jerrrrie," Cassandra purred her tail curling with delight as she stretched her long lithe form.

Mungojerrie scratched his ear, still perplexed. He thought for a moment, then finally it hit him. "Y'mean...yer tellin' me those two wanna be mates?" Of course he knew cats fell in love and such, even hoped to have a queen himself one day. But... Victoria and Quaxo? In Jerrie's eyes those two were still kittens!

Cettie nodded enthusiastically at Jerrie and giggled excited. "Vic really fancies Quaxo, she's always talking about him." She bounced in her seat a little. "I have seen Quaxo staring at her when she doesn't notice. I think he fancies her too!" She says with a grin.

the lovely brown queen settled down and began to delicately groom herself, her face a study of serene contemplation. "they are not quite that young Jerrie, and if the pairing is true is the age really that important?" Cassandra said softly in a velvety voice as she groomed her way down her arm to her wrist. she looked up at him her pale green eyes catching the moonlight.

Mungojerrie still felt somewhat flabbergasted over the whole idea, despite the others' confidence. "Ah...well...Oi better sit down an' give this a bit of a think..." He sat down, leaning against the pipe. He considered Cassandra's words. They made a good bit of sense, he supposed. "So y'think that as long as two folks belongs together..." Looking up, Mungo suddenly noticed how brightly Cassandra's eyes glowed in the moonlight. He froze for a moment, fascinated. Did all cats' eyes do that, or were hers a special color, or...? All at once he realized he was staring rudely. With an embarrassed little cough, he turned to Etcetera. "An' yew agree wif that? Age don' matter so long's it's meant to be?"

Cettie found the whole conversation amusing and it wasn't just how perplexed Jerrie was by Quaxo and Victoria's possible relationship but hints of his own. She smiled at Cassandra knowingly as Jerrie pondered it all and stretched out on top on the tire to lean over the edge of the pipe at him. "Yeah I do! Age don't matter at all, your heart is what matters."

the lovely brown queen dipped her eyes "take you for example Jerrie you are very diffrent from the toms that my humans have been shoving under my nose since I was just a little older than our Cettie here. your manners and accent may be deplorable and your fur look mussed like you just got up from a nap but you are brave and entertaining and interesting and you care about more than just your own pleasure and wants. until Gus and Skimbleshanks introduced me to Deuteronomy and the Tribe I did not know that a pairing could be anything else." she said her long smooth tail coiling around her the tip twitching.

Now more embarrassed than ever, Mungojerrie looked down at his paws as if inspecting them. Then, conscious of how rude he must seem - especially to Cassandra, who did everything with such elegance and propriety - he gathered his courage and looked up again. "Well...er...guess... Oi've learnt a good bit tonight abou' love an' wot makes a good couple," he laughed nervously. "Didn't realize you ladies were such experts," he added with a teasing wink, feeling a bit more like his normal self.
