Admetus yawned as he opened his sleepy eyes, a satisfied smirk on his face. The soft blankets were like silk against his fur and the head of the lovely young lass; he was pretty sure her name was Marina....or Mariah. Anyway, the white manx queen had her head laid against his chest, with one arm wrapped around his waist. By the sound of her breathing, he surmised she was still peacefully sleeping. Before he could snuggle back against the pillow and fall back asleep with the "M" named queen, another presence came flying into the room. The tom was huge, the bulging muscles was almost sickening, if Admetus wasn't turned by every body type and shape that is. The tom only gave Admetus a seconds glance before he hissed, waking up Admetus bed partner.
"Bethany!"
Admetus ahh'ed, so that was the name, he thought in his head. His blase reaction only heightened the tension in the room. Admetus forced himself not to smile, but settled for an ironic grin. "Relax muscles. I didn't know she was taken when this started. So obviously this has nothing to do with me and there's a problem between the two of you. I'll let you tussle it out and have hot angry make-up sex, just as soon as I get out of your hair." Despite his optimistic approach, the taller and more built tom grabbed him by the arm, stopping him from being on his merry way. It had been a long shot the moment he realized that the queen he hooked up with was a mated queen. Still it was worth a try.
"You put your filthy paws on my mate, you're not going anywhere." The muscled tom bellowed as he pushed Admetus back. The dusky grey tabby fell backwards into the nearest object, banging his head against the wall. He grinned, despite the small jolt of pain. Admetus had heard Bethany shriek in the background, but he was focused on the tom who was now in his way. He dodged the punch to his face, and then got a reprieve when Bethany jumped down from the bed behind her mate. She had looped her arms around his and was begging him to stop. He didn't need another signal. He heard Beth telling him to run, and he did, all with a smile on his face. It sure wasn't dull having his life or being him. That was the best thing he loved about how he lived. When he heard the pounding steps of the muscled tom thundering after him, only made his amusement and therefore his smirk grow.
The chase through the house was amusing, but he made up for his lack of brute strength in agility. There was no way the neanderthal was going to catch him. Admetus finally came upon an open window, and jumped up and out. He was safely back on the streets, but he could still hear the tom yelling from inside the house. Although he would be the first to make fun of the tom's IQ, he knew the tom was probably smarter then he looked. He'd realize Admetus was no longer in the house soon enough. So, Admetus took flight once more, laughing as he ran.

Tumblebrutus licked up the last few scrapings of his breakfast before heading to the door. His human stood there, waiting for her mum to take her to school. Tumble stopped to rub up against her leg for a moment, purring low in his throat. It was a small parting gesture, but it pleased the young human immensely, so he made a point to do it every time he visited. It cost him very little, and was small thanks for how well he got treated here. Having said his goodbye, he hopped through the kitty door and out onto the streets. Time to head back to his other home.
He did glance in the direction of the boat docks. I could do it...go hop on a boat and leave here...no one'd notice, probably... Turning away with a sigh, he headed in the direction of the junkyard. Not yet. Someday, but not yet.
After a lazy couple of days at his humans' house, Tumble felt the need for some exercise. No need to get fat and clumsy. He walked a few moments more, then decided to jog the rest of the way to the 'yard. Just then, he heard what sounded like a laugh somewhere near him. He turned around, and spotted someone running in this direction. He just had time to jump out of the way as the other cat came up on him, and recognized Admetus as he sped by.
"Wha-? Hey, what's the matter?" he yelled after the tom, though not really expecting him to stop.

Admetus was flying by, and only noticed he was about to mow down another cat at the last second. Luckily the other tom jumped to the side and out of the way, but Admetus had only given him a quick glance before continuing on. It was the voice that caused the tabby to stop and give the tom a second glance.
Tumblebrutus.
Admetus had no idea the patched tom lived anywhere near that area. Then again, Tumble may have just been strolling. He walked back a few steps, back towards Tumble, though he did gaze beyond him to see if the big lug-head was coming after him. Not seeing anything in the distance, he gave the tom his full attention. He raised his eyebrow at the tom, admiring but not outright flirting. "It's a big city patches. This is quite a coincidence. So how's your night been so far?" Still seeing and hearing no sign of Beatrice...Beatrice?...well her mate, he fully relaxed. Stretching his arms above his head, Admetus gave Tumble a big toothy grin. He wasn't the closest tom to Tumblebrutus, but he always thought they got along at the ball.
Admetus was fairly certain the only jellicles who knew he was a hench were Old Deuteronomy and Munkustrap, but with the jellicles he could never tell with them. "Matter...?" He finally questioned, as Tumble's original inquiry hit him. "Oh nothing. Just a midnight crisis. Apparently some mated pair down the street is having problems in bed. It's all very sad. Naturally I offered my invaluable and entertaining services. It was the most fun I've had all night." Still grinning, he moved closer into Tumble's space,"There's nothing wrong with you, is there? You know you can confide in me, patches. You're one of my favorites in the tribe."

((oops...definitely acted like it was morning in my previous post...oh well, Tumble can just be confused XD))
Inwardly, Tumblebrutus grimaced. He already wished he had just let Admetus run by without saying anything. He didn't dislike Admetus, and even found him entertaining at times. But he more often felt awkward around Adme--which was saying something, since Tumble was already such an awkward tom.
He had no desire to hear more about Admetus' "midnight crisis," or to confide in him. So he stuck with the grey tom's first question. "My night's been all right," Tumble shrugged, speaking as casually as possible. "Just visiting my humans. They live near here."

((Well it's probably early morning, like 4 or 5am. For Admetus, it doesn't turn morning until the sunrise. XD))
Admetus nodded his head,"I didn't know that. Of course I had no idea that you even had humans." The tabby looked around, noticing the direction Tumble was going in. "I take it your headed to the junkyard?" He had to be sure, Admetus wasn't technically allowed in the yard outside of the ball. Still didn't stop him from trying to befriend or sleeping with any of the jellicles. But he still respected Old Deuteronomy enough to obey his wishes. That, and he wasn't stupid enough to go against Macavity. The ginger tom didn't want him screwing up and getting banned from the jellicle ball. So he kept his distance and maintained his 'stray' identity. Wasn't hard, since he spent more time clubbing in the city then hanging around Macavity's place. He blinked and shook his head,"Well don't mind me, patches. You're big enough not to need an escort." He stuck his tongue out affectionately.

Tumblebrutus nodded, then shrugged. "They found me as a kitten. Or, rather, the little queen...girl, I mean, found me. Worked some sort of magic with her parents with those big, sad eyes of hers, convinced them to let her 'keep' me. Of course, I come and go as I please and get free meals out of it." He was actually surprising himself by how much he was talking. But Admetus, though he could be a bit unnerving at times, was different from the Jellicles Tumble had known all his life. He wasn't someone Tumble saw or lived with constantly, so on the off chance Tumble did or said something to embarrass himself, well...at least he could walk away and not have to see the tom again if he didn't want to. "Yeah," he added in response to Adme's question. "I'm on my way to the 'yard." Tumble frowned slightly in thought, suddenly wondering exactly who or what Admetus was. Was he a Jellicle? He only seemed to ever come to the junkyard once a year. Perhaps he was a stray...but since when was a stray so familiar with Jellicles? "Say, what do you do the rest of the year?" he blurted out, his curiosity getting the better of him.

Admetus wasn't at all surprised when the tom started opening up to him, but he was surprised that he did so even without Admetus laying the charm on. He shrugged,"Hey man. You can't go wrong with a free meal. And a lot of those humans are alright. You're not trying to justify yourself or the fact that you live with humans to me, are you? We might not know each other that well, patches, but you should know I don't judge. I party, screw and brawl." He had no qualms with the jellicles judging him, but he preferred they judged him on who he was...not who he associated with. But he'd take whatever came at him, when it came at him. His eyebrow lifted, and the corner of his mouth twitched into a smirk. "Thought you knew. It's no big secret. I mainly club hop. Enjoy the freedom, though I don't live with humans, that's true, but my abode is small and dirty." There was a short pause in his words. I'd have to clean it up before you came over for a visit." He added with a wink.

So, he was a stray. A stray who just happened to attend the Ball every year. Interesting. Tumble wondered if he had some kind of special arrangement with Old Deuteronomy. For, after all, what if he were some sort of Hench spy? It didn't worry Tumble, really; it was just something interesting to think about. In all honesty, he kind of liked the idea of an undercover Hench plot going on; might create something exciting to do, like a fight or a rescue mission. "Well. Glad you don't judge. Somecats have odd notions about humans." He shrugged at Adme's mention of his messy abode. Not as if he ever intended to visit there, that he knew of. "No worries; I'm not much of a neat freak myself. That's Jellylorum's area." He laughed slightly. Just then, his ear twitched, picking up movement nearby. He turned around, but didn't see anything. "Did you hear something?" he asked Admetus.
Flat against the wall of a building, Oswin leaned her head out just the tiniest bit to peer at the two cats who were talking in the street. Quickly ducking back behind the building, she turned to see if Arnbjorn had followed her. "That's the tom I was telling you about," she whispered excitedly.

Arnbjorn stood out in the open next to the building, not trying very hard to hide. It wasn't his style. He stared hard at the two cats. The taller one looked like Admetus, but he couldn't be sure, not from this distance. The shorter one was... Hadn't Oswin said the tom was pretty well-muscled!? He looked down at his own crossed arms, then at the black and white queen.
"I wouldn't call that 'muscled', y'know," he muttered reproachfully.

Admetus was still grinning as he listened to Tumblebrutus talk. Being on the streets, and considering that he ran in more circles then just hanging around the Henchcats all day, Admetus knew some of those odd notions concerning humans. Admetus was privy to all the wild theories going around the city, and not just about humans. This train of thought had him chuckling out loud. "You should hear some of the strange stories told at different parties and events around the city. Half of them are of course drunk or high, so you can't really listen to whatever they have to say. But even the sober normal cats come up with the weirdest crap."
His ears twitched, and he turned and gave Tumble a look. After a short nod to his question, Admetus looked over to where they had both heard the noise. Not discreetly either. "Oi!!" Admetus whistled at the building. Obnoxious, and creating a scene; something the tabby was good at. "Come on over and join us. No reason to admire us from a far." He lowered his voice and spoke almost conspiratorially at Tumblebrutus. "I suppose it's too optimistic of me to hope its two lovely and hot queens spying on us..." It was half spoken as a question and half as a statement. Even if it was two toms, Admetus wouldn't have cared, however he had a feeling Tumble did.

Tumble would have preferred it if Admetus had been more discreet and let them investigate who was over there spying...before inviting them over. But he should have known better than to expect any such thing. "Well, there's nothing for it now, eh. Better hope it's not..." He stopped short of saying 'a hench' or 'anything dangerous.' He didn't want Admetus to think he was afraid, nor did he want to bring up henches...for all he knew, Adme could be one, and he was treading dangerous ground being here. "...A pair of ugly old toms," he finished lamely.
Oswin rolled her eyes toward Arnbjorn. "All right, so I'm no muscle expert, am I? And in fact it was dark when I spoke with him. I apologize for my inaccuracy on his precise body type. But it makes you feel all the more better about your own muscles, I'm sure." She turned to listen again. "Skat! They've seen us! Well, nothing for it now. Just follow my lead, yeah?" Without waiting for a response, she dashed over to the two toms, and without pausing, leaped onto Tumble, wrapping her arms around him in a squeezing bear hug. "Ohhh, yay, I found you!" she squealed.
And...suddenly a strange queen was jumping him? Whatever Tumblebrutus had been expecting, it hadn't been this. Thankfully the queen was small, or he'd have toppled over. "Uh..." He turned and looked at Admetus with a look that generally said something like "I-don't-know-this-person-help-what-do-I-do-get-it-off...!'

"Well..." Arnbjorn began with a sigh. But Oswin was dashing away before he could gather his thoughts. He grumbled and lumbered after her. "Could've warned me, you know," he said to Oswin when he reached her. He smoothed his mane back and gave a nod toward Admetus.
"So this is the tom, huh?" He tried to take a closer look at the cat, but Oswin was in the way. "He's not gonna be any good for us if you break his neck, hanging off him like that."

He watched with amused eyes as Oswin rushed at Tumble and was hanging on him, almost hugging the poor tom to death. If his wide-eyed "Help me" look was any indication. He caught Arnbjorn's nod, and gave him a flirtatious smile. Admetus of course knew Arnbjorn, and he knew Oswin too, but had never spent valuable time with her,...yet. Admetus was an eternal optimist, or a hornball, whichever point of view one had. "Patches, you've been holding out on me. While, since the queen here obviously wants you, I'll take dibs on this stud." His voice was smooth as his eyes gave the tom an unashamed look over. He placed a paw on the tom's chest and winked, before he brought his attention back to Tumble. With some forceful movements, he grabbed a hold of Tumble and managed to pry Tumble away from the clinging queen. "Seriously though. Who are you two and what do you want with patches here?"

((It's fine ) As Admetus pulled Tumble away, Oswin fell backwards onto her rump. Jumping up and dusting herself off, she turned around to Arnbjorn. "He doesn't remember me!" she wailed. At the same time, she shot Arnbjorn a warning look. The way he was talking, Tumble was bound to grow suspicious. She turned back round to face the others. "I'm Tumble's new best friend, Ossie," she explained to Admetus. "We met last night. You really don't remember?" she asked Tumble, looking at him with a pitiful expression.Tumble felt slightly guilty for not knowing who this weird little queen was. Maybe she was confused, or not quite right in the head... "I'm sorry, I didn't meet anyone last night..." He thought over his evening. Nothing out of the ordinary had occurred...he'd spent the night out on the railing since the weather was nice..."I talked to you out on your human's railing," Oswin persisted. She shrugged. "Guess you were asleep. But I talked and you answered. I asked would you be my best friend and you said yes."Tumble stared at Oswin, then at Arnbjorn and Admetus. "Either of you following this?" He was utterly confused.

Arnbjorn watched Admetus, painfully aware of how he was flirting with him. Under other circumstances, sure, maybe he'd flirt back a bit. But technically, he was working. He stepped back, away from Admetus's paw. He returned Oswin's warning look. As far as he was concerned, trying to trick this 'Tumble' into thinking they were just being friendly was lying. If he wanted to join up with the Henches, Oswin should just ask.
"Sorry, no." he raised a heavy brow at Oswin. She'd better not be wasting his time on a mistake on her part. He shot another look at the patchy tom. "Arnbjorn, by the way. Nice to meet you."
