Cat’s Name: Bathsheba
Loyalty:Hench
Age:older than dirt (elder)
Appearance: a small full gray domestic short hair with posibly a touch of siamese. her fur hangs loose with the loss of muscle with age and
there are folds and wrinkles around her cataract shrouded eyes eyes.
Personality: Bathsheba lives up to her namesake, clever, manipulative, potentially ruthless, and determined to look out for number one.
she has the ability to divine the future and past through various means such as laying patterns of cards and the throwing of bones. however she is also compelled to be truthful.
she can shroud it with double talk but in the end she HAS to tell the truth and it seriously ticks her off no end. the old girl has a sharp mind and is quite good at reading others to deduce what they want to hear or what might be the proper course of action. which is good because her gift is not entirely reliable. when it works it is very accurate when it dosn't she gets nothing. she has adopted a gypsy like flair over the years.
being mostly blind she is very concerned about remaining useful and her personal comfort, she is quite canny and has a wealth of knowledge about the city. if a body;s been buried she likely has at least a clue. she is rather bitter over the fickleness of Toms and the loss of their attentions as her looks faded.
Background: Bathsheba was a ships cat from the Isle of Man until her vision began to fail. she had a lad in every port and in her prime she had been romanced by such notables of the elder generation as Gus but as she aged their attention dimmed along with her beauty. then she was put ashore, cast aside. despondent she turned to plying card tricks that she had picked up for meals. as she knocked around the docks she found that the worse her eyes got the more accurate the "readings" with the cards became. for a long time she was a fixture in the London shadows plying her trade to the city's underbelly, offering wisdom and advice to those as bitter as she.
Pairing would like: a little late don't you think?
Roleplaying Sample: the old queen sat in a darkened room a cone of light falling on the barrel before her. there was a dry whispering sound as she shuffled the deck of cards that she held. slowly with patient ease she layed out a pattern of cards face down on the barrel top.
she leaned forward the light causing her cataract shrouded eyes to glow eerily, "your path is thorny through no fault of your own," she droned in a husky voice as she turned over the first card revealing a picture of a tower being struck by a lighting bolt.
"or maybe it is..."
Comments: her ability is not under her control as it only works when we have a plot point that needs to be introduced that has been agreed upon with the Admins and not on the whims of the PC's. given the crowd that she runs with it NOT working on demand can be hazardous to ones health and lead to complications. also as minor as it may seem she is unable to get a reading on herself and SHE does not figure in to any reading she does, say there is going to be a fire in the ware house and someone is going to be injured she can say that there is danger and roughly the number but SHE could be injured as well without warning.
