Fenrir was crouched and hunkered into a weird contortion as he hid in a crack in the wall of a tall, supposedly impenetrable wall, that surrounded "private property". The silver tom's jaw clenched as he continued to slither through without making a sound. It was a place he had mapped when he was alone on the streets. In fact there wasn't a place he hadn't mapped. However, he continued to explore in his off hours, because where individuals changed with each new experience, buildings and landscapes changed too. He had to keep things updated, and not just for Macavity. If it ever came to the point in his life where he had to leave and count on his own survival again, he wanted the most up to date maps to escape anything and anyone in his way. He finally made it clear and was now out of the private grounds. His striped tail came out of the crack in the wall behind him and wrapped around his ankle. There had been nothing new and nothing of worth to him. With his shining aqua eyes, he set his sights down the street to the left of him and began his tread in that direction.

the tall thin ginger tom stalked the shadows. things were progressing nicely but Macavity had energy to burn at the moment so he decided to take a walk about. and as he did he saw Fenrir 'materalize' from one of his niches ahead of him. the tall ginger tom clapped his hands slowly in applause of Fenrirs feat, "good show my boy, very well done I did not see you there!"Macvity said in a soft friendly tone that still carried the distance nicely.

Fenrir's ears flicked at the tone and his mind registered the sound of Macavity's voice, before his aqua eyes saw the tom coming towards him from a distance. Fenrir's gut reaction was to point out, quite literally, that he didn't see him there, was because he wasn't there a minute ago. He was silent for a few moments, before he cocked his head to the side in question. "I am to be a show now?" He closed the distance between them however. "It's rare to see you away from the Warehouse." Fen decided to point out the obvious in an attempt to get more information from Macavity without asking for it.

the ginger tom gave a lurid chuckle that never quite reached his luminous yellow eyes, "all the world is a stage and we are all but poor players upon it! and I go where it pleases Me when it please Me." Macavity said in a genial tone, "and what of yourself, what dark deeds have you prowling this fine night?"

Fenrir's striped tail swayed behind him, as his aqua eyes stared out in front of him. He was watching where he was going on top of sorting out the words Macavity spoke. Their intention, their meaning, and any hidden subtext. Then formulating responses in his head. Unfortunately all he could think up was a simple reply. "An unusual philosophy." But if it set well with Macavity, then that was his business. Fenrir wasn't sure if he once had a philosophy, or previous beliefs. But since losing a big portion of his life, he tended to only believe in and put stock in survival. The light grey tom did feel relieved when the ginger tom started talking about business. That was something he could get into stride about. "Same old. Checking familiar haunts and updating my maps, routes and secret passageways. Buildings and landscapes tend to change with the times."

the ginger tom slowly smiled his luminous yellow eyes gleaming "smashing simply smashing! after all there are things a foot and fortune favors the prepared! now have any leading to or overlooking the Junkyard opened up? plans are in the works and I do not want us to use the same routes that we used to access The Ball!" he said in a velvety tone.

Fenrir's face did not change, as he remained stoic and deep in thought. However, only a very brief moment passed before he began talking, his tone rather light. A tone he rarely used. "I have no idea how or who helped you sneak into the junkyard during their ball the other night. Under the very noses of their steadfast patrols." He nodded his head. "Although I have seen no indication that the jellicles even know of the routes you previously took. I understand your caution. Ironically, scouting the junkyard was my next stop." Though Fenrir was never too find of anything pertaining to irony.

the ginger toms smile broadened and for a flickering moment it reached his eyes, "ahh so very good! and their patrols were far from steadfast THAT night, so many of them were distracted by the dancing and all the hedonistic goings on!" Macavity said with a mocking laugh. then the ginger tom paced a slow circle. "if the Junkyard is your destination then by all means I will not keep you! go my young buck, go swiftly, go silently and learn what you can! I will be waiting with baited...breath!" he said as he backed into the shadows until all that could be seen was his glimmering yellow eyes.

Fenrir's face did not change at all as he listened to Macavity. His boss did have a good point. He couldn't imagine why the Jellicles would have a steadfast patrol setup on that night. From his reports of them, they certainly enjoyed that festive night. However, he imagined if the henches ever had a celebratory night, there patrols would be more demanding. Smart cats would be more inclined to protect those they serve or care about during their most vulnerable nights. Finally, his eyebrow raised slowly up as Macavity referred to him as a young buck. He probably wasn't much younger then Macavity, but having lost most of his memories of his earlier life, he couldn't even guess what his real age was. "As you command." Came Fen's whispered voice. He watched silently as Macavity's form disappeared, save his golden eyes. But as soon as those were also gone, Fenrir did his own vanishing act, and headed towards Jellicle Territory.
