"GOOD!" the Siamese tom called as he picked up speed and in a bound bounced off the top of a dustbin and to the top of a fence that he raced along. he paused long enough to be sure that Electra was following, then he leaped from the fence to a fire escape. he followed it up and up till finally they were on the roof. from there the lights of London spread out before them twinkling like a night sky all it's own.
"this is your city, this is what they have been denying you."

Electra followed him closely, that she had almost stepped on his feet, numerous times. It was only luck that kept her from stepping on her hero, or worse yet tripping over him. She found herself loving the breeze whipping through her fur as she chased after Genghis. She laughed like the kitten she was, as she climbed up the fire escape, from the fence, a feat she just had to laugh at. But she was afraid to break this rapport, by speaking. It was only after she stepped foot onto the roof that she was rendered speechless.
It was a gorgeous sight. And if Genghis hadn't spoken, she may have even found the view romantic. But the way he had said that had caught her attention, and a growl did tumble from her throat. They had denied her this beauty. This city! "Why would they keep me from seeing this?" She had asked, both curious, angry and hurt with her family for shielding her from something so miraculous. "I want to see everything." She carefully padded over to Genghis and was almost cuddled up to his side. She looked up at him, from beneath her eyelashes. "Will you show me?"

in a sad soft voice Ghengis answered, "perhaps the size frightens them and they wanted to protect you, I can understand the impulse."
then he gave her shoulder a friendly bump as he chuckled. "you think that I would show you this and not? though to see it all will take more than one night!"
his elec blue eyes twinkled merrily as his tail swished.

Electra's tail was still flicking agitatedly from side to side from the revelation of a whole world being shunned...for her safety. "I...didn't ask for safety. I asked for life." She huffed, almost sulkily. She shook her head, not wanted to be angry the whole night. Not when 'Somdet' was going to take her on a memorable adventure. She nuzzled his side, without thinking about the small gesture. Her eyes were sparkling once again as she observed the view Genghis so generally decided to show her. "Well, then maybe we'll have to see each other on some other night." She lifted her eyebrows in question as her attention was off the view of the city and once more laid on Genghis.

the handsome tom perked his ears whiskers, "prrrrreisely what I had in mind! what say that we meet in the same spot, our spot in the hour after sunset. if I am unable to meet you for some reason I'll send word or leave a token hmmmm? but now for tonight....I think I know just the place to start!" he said returning her rub before starting off again.

Electra grinned, her foul mood tampering off almost as quickly as it had come. She felt that this tom was spoiling her. In any case, she felt like the only queen on the planet with him beside her, that he only had eyes for her at the moment, and it was a feeling that made her insides twist into knots, and a warmth began to spread from within her. "Sounds like a deal." Electra spoke softly before looping her arm around his. "And on the way to this place, you can tell me all about what kind of token to look for if either of us can't make an appointment."

the handsome tom managed to both look thoughtful and maintain his pace.
"hmm how about an Electric cord? high on the stack means a long wait low means a short one and at the very top means sorry not tonight?" he said. then he added "watch your footing now..." as he led them down a sharply angled roof and into an alley.
"and we are just...about...There!"

Electra couldn't help but to grin real wide at his use of her name as the 'token'. Her name. Why did it still seem off? She shrugged to herself, and then nodded like the fool kitten with a crush that she was. Electra could only imagine how ridiculous she looked to this tom, but he kept her around and didn't appear to want to leave or get rid of her, so she took this as the best news,...ever. "That's a great idea. There's plenty of electric cord in the junkyard that I could grab if I can't make it, as well." Though this was said more for her benefit, then his. She had caught his warning a bit too late, and had found her feet to get tangled and she fell at Genghis.

the handsome tom easily caught and righted the slight young queen with no comment, then he sketched a bow to bring Electra's eyes to the street around the corner.
the street beyond was awash with bright colors from lights of neon and flashing strobes while human buskers preformed with raucous enthusiasm while delicious scents wafted from vendor carts of every description.
"I think that is a grand idea, now Sweet One are you in the mood for Fish, Chicken or sweet sausage?" Ghengis asked.

Electra made a bit of an oomph, but that was quickly overpowered by the feel of Genghis' arms once again around her. Holding her and making sure she hadn't fallen. What a tom! Once she was done seeing hearts in her eyes, for the tom who now currently own hers, she felt the ground under her feet, and realized that Genghis was no longer touching her. How embarrassing! Was she just standing there with drool slipping out of the corner of her (no doubt) gaping mouth. She shook her head to clear it. As soon as his words hit her ears, she flushed deeply, and licked her lips subconsciously. "Chicken." She fidgeted, looking for the right words. Something that sounded good but alluring. She thought of Bombalurina and smiled over at Genghis. "But I'll have whatever you're having."

the handsome siamese tom bowed to Electra "as the Lady wishes!" he said and then dashed along the wall nimbly darting from one bit of cover to another. like a shadow Ghengis crept up and slipped down a choice chicken breast from the warmer of a vendors cart while the human was turned away. in a flash he was sliding to a stop next to the young queen with a roguish grin.
deftly he split the morsel and offered the larger half to Electra with a flourish.

Electra was happy she was about to get chicken and eat it with this tom, but she still felt like pouting. Perhaps she needed to work on her "Bomba" voice. Or maybe she was just too young. She knew she was young, but she thought, since she was old enough to attend the ball she was now...there. At the age. Whatever age that was. But darnit! She was finally invited to the ball because she was old enough for that, that had to count for something. She blinked up just as Genghis returned and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep from squealing, though she did feel a bit lightheaded. No one had ever looked at her like that before. She took in a breath and smiled easily. "Thank you." She cut a piece off with her claws, before retracting them and then popping it in her mouth. She looked over to Genghis while she chewed on the meat.

the handsome tom smiled at her, his long cream and brown tail swaying in time to the rhythm of one of the human buskers who was playing a steel guitar (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN4QwuX1eAY&feature=player_detailpage ) the soft and subtle tune flowing over the pair like the night breeze.
when the human was done Ghengis said to Electra "if you would like something livelier their are others further down, it is one of the things that I like about this street around this time of night."

Electra swallowed her piece of chicken and took another bite, and another. Her tail curled slowly, and would sway sensually back and forth in time with the subtle tune of the guitar. It had made her happy and she was smiling as her mind drifted with the music. As soon as it was over she flushed. She hadn't spoken a word in such a long time, and weren't two cats suppose to chat over dinner? She was too young and inexperienced to realize what comfortable or companionable silence was. After she finished another bit of her chicken, she 'Mm'ed. "I enjoyed...that song. But if you're more comfortable with something upbeat. I want to experience that with you."

the handsome tom leaned in and deftly groomed Electra's whiskers w a warm smile.
"ahhh but this is your night sweetone!" he said gently taking her paw. "but moving along does keep the humans from noticing hmmmm?"he added as he steered her on to the next set buskers,
a trio with a banjo, a tin whistle a fiddle who were playing a rollicking reel.
finishing his chicken Ghengis danced a few steps before her.
