Purrgatori's tail bristled, but she shook her head at Stubby's sudden and uncharacteristic (for her) actions to take against any disrespect. "A jellicle harmed my only family, my sister years ago, but...he's dead now. Not sure if that's justice. Never got an apology from him before he-" She trailed off with a shrug, not bothering to add that none of his tribemates ever reached out to her either. It didn't matter anyway. She did purse her lips. "Do you know a jellicle named Tucker?"

the old tom scowled, "THAT reprobate? d'imigh an diabhal air! ahem, ya steer clear a that one, why tha Tribe has let 'im stay on tis beyond me" Stubinz sputtered, then his face softened "but please do na judge us on those two, like any Tribe there are both tha good hearted and tha na so good ey? why Ah even know a Hench or two that are na that bad!" he said. "then he drew him self up and bowed to Purgatoi again "well ifin no one has then some one should, on behalf a the Junkyard Tribe Ah apologize fer tha bad behavior a me tribemates an offer what recompense Ah can!"

"I suppose. Though I can't imagine Tucker's superiors..." Because she refused to believe that Tucker was in any sort of position of power within the Jellicle Tribe, not by the way he acted. "Will be happy with him threatening an unarmed and untrained queen by holding a knife to her throat." Tori was still shaking her head in disappointment from her recent interactions with Tucker. "Even if that queen is a Hench. He had never once inquired if I was or not, just jumped up and threatened me." As far as Tucker was still aware, she was just a random stray cat wandering the streets. It wasn't polite. She frowned,"I will accept the apology regarding the Tucker issue, even if its from someone who was not involved and should have to apologize for."
She did tip her head in slight respect to the older tom, grateful he was at least giving her something to think about, other then all Jellicles were scum and the lowest of the low. "However, I'm sorry. But what happened with my sister, and myself a couple years ago...a simple apology won't make up for it. My opinion of you has not changed from my past experiences, though." Her words were at the least honest, if not sugared down.

the old toms outraged scowl deepened, "that scroblach bastart! Ah do na blame in tha least lass, an Ah thank ya fer still thinkin well a me own self, an tha Tribe leaders will HEAR a this see if tha don't! an ifin they don sit on tha youn buck...." Stubinz swept his walking stick up with frightning speed knocking a tin can from off of a box an with three strikes kept it in the air and then crushed it, "there is always Shillelagh Law. an Ah'll tell ya lass unless one tis exeptionaly good or bad as it may be, knife versus shillelagh.... knife loses." he continued in a soft determined voice then just as suddenly his emile returned like the sun from behind a cloud. "but be that as it may, the Lark and Rose tis neutral ground, an even old Mackie agrees ta that! so whenever ya get tha yen stop in ifin Ah'm in yer own fine selfs security tis assured! now we may haie a raucous night or two but mostly we get old duffers like neself an strays who are too happy fer a warm spot an some vittles ta raise a fuss." he said in a light tone, "an Ah'll na ask ya beyond tha gates ifin that be yer wish."

Purrgatori's ears had flattened at Stubinz sudden change of voice, but she knew he wasn't angry with her. In fact, he seemed more like he was coming to her defense, appalled by what she had said was done. It happened so rarely. "I do not know what possessed him to do it, and my intention was not to get him in trouble. But Macavity wouldn't have stood for a tom acting that way for no reason, so I would think your Jellicle leader might feel the same way." However, she did no more to talk about the Jellicle tribe. They seemed to have endless compassion for those who did wrong, except where Macavity was concerned, but those they wronged seemed to get the short end of the stick. She had no doubt that they'd believe Tucker, assuming Tucker denied threatening her, over her word-simply because she was a Hench. "I...The only one who ever cared as much as you seem to, was my sister. ..." She was able to withdraw despite still holding the box in her arms, and flushed. "Thank you."
She did nod, gratefully. "I would not like to go further then the gates, please. They would no doubt be weary of my presence, as I would be uncomfortable being in theirs."

the battered old tom nodded "as tha Lady wish's, now after ma errand, which shall na take long, would ya be likin me ta escort ya back ta yer own spot?" Stubinz asked in a warm friendly voice. as he did one notched ear perked up.

Purrgatori was silent for a few moments as she considered his offer. "Are we at the yard already?" She asked as she peered away from Stubinz, only realizing then that she had kept her eyes completely focused on him. Her eyes were round, and she kept herself from frowning. She hadn't come to the junkyard, since she had confronted Zaeed almost two years ago, and got drugs crammed down her throat. Her ears did flatten when they finally approached the yard's gates. She shifted on her feet uncomfortably, before holding the box out for Stubby. "I wouldn't mind your company on my walk back."
Tori was grateful, this tom would be more beneficial then someone like Tucker, and she'd never admit to it, but having a knife held against her throat had been more traumatizing to her then she had let on. She was also grateful that she hadn't told Admetus about that. He was a lot of things, most of them bad, but he was loyal to those that he was found of, usually loyal to a fault. She had no doubts he would have done the same thing to Tucker to see how much he enjoyed it. If not something worse. "I'll wait here." She spoke aloud, hoping none of the jellicles would spot her waiting outside the gates while Stubby was running his errand. That'd be awkward.

the battered old tom gave Purgatori a wink "there's a nice hidin spot down that a way ifin ya like ta say out of sight! Ah wont be long!" Stubinz said as he reclaimed the box and hurried down the lane to the junkyard's gate. (EXIT Stubinz stage left)

Purrgatori had given the tom a small and rather shy smile when he pointed out a hiding spot for her. It was the first time, apart from Macavity, that she was shown respect. She couldn't help but to smile at that thought. She nodded, then watched the tom turn away from her and hobble into the junkyard. Tori quickly ducked from sight, and slipped into thick bushes, to hide from anyone around that might notice her-had she been standing around waiting.
