Oswin gulped, feeling more nervous as Adme left and she was alone with the boss. "Yes, sir," she said. Annoyingly, her voice came out almost as a squeak. She cleared her throat and tried to speak more steadily. "I have been watching one of he Jellicles, Tumblebrutus. His loyalty to his tribe seems...well, shaky. With just the right bit of encouragement, he might be persuaded to join us. Perhaps if all is going well once I've gathered the necessary information from Quaxo, I could work on this Tumble person as well?"

the ginger tom leaned forward steepling his slender foretoes, settling his unblinking gaze at a point just beyond Oswin. after several long moments his dangerously pleasant smile returned as his gaze moved to the young patchwork queen "I give you my full permission to follow your instincts on this matter," he said in a smooth velvety tone the dropped to a low purr when he added, "and of course yours will be the...consequences for good or ill." then he rose fluidly to his feet and like a shadow drifted over to the door and held it open, "now off with you jiggidy jig! and good luck and good...hunting."

Oswin brightened instantly. Not only was she glad to go, but she also felt flattered that he trusted her to go off on her own, use her judgment on things... But then, after all, why not? She was capable. She knew what she was doing. Time to go do some Jellicle spying! She bowed to Macavity and practically jigged out of the room.
[Exit Oswin]

the ginger tom returned to his desk and contentedly began to work out long division sums in head as he purred. (EXIT Macavity...fade to black and.... that's the scene! up lights, strike the set it's dead as a Norwegian Blue Parrot nailed to it's perch!)
